A new ministry at First Baptist Church named “Celebration Cakes” has begun! With referrals from Social Workers and Centers in the community, First Baptist volunteers will bake cakes for children that otherwise would not receive one for their birthday. When families are severely stressed financially, sometimes it is a choice between a birthday gift or birthday cake. Sometimes it is nothing at all.
Celebration Cakes’ Vision: Making children feel special and blessed on their birthday!
Celebration Cakes’ Mission: Reach out to as many children as possible to convey Christ’s blessings and compassion and demonstrate to each individual child that someone cares for them.
Volunteers are needed!
No special baking or cake decorating skills are required…only a passion for helping children. Volunteers will gather with a common goal and purpose for a time of fellowship to make and decorate the cakes.
