Educational Ministry

The Education Ministry at First Baptist provides many opportunities to learn about God and ways to implement His teachings in a non-pressure,  non-threatening environment.  Small groups meet throughout the week to fellowship, study and implement the Scripture.

  • Sunday School (Bible Study)

There are four major Sunday School Divisions with forty-five plus study groups offering in depth Bible Study, spiritual growth and nurture, and support for all members and guests of First Baptist.  The Sunday morning Bible study meets from 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM, weekly.  Groups for Preschool, Children, Youth, University, Young, Median, Senior Adult, Deaf, Internationals represent a diverse, yet comprehensive bridge for anyone as they come to know and grow in Jesus Christ.

  • Christian Growth/Discipleship Opportunities 

The Sunday evening program known as Under One Roof is designed to assist individuals mature in their faith, develop Christian relationships, and equip members for church leadership and ministry.   Short-term courses designed for preschoolers through Senior Adults are scheduled during the fall, winter and spring seasons.  Please contact the Office of Christian Education and Administration (270-842-0331  or rvincent@firstbaptistbg.org) for current topics, meeting locations and meeting time.

  • Prayer Ministry

An organized Prayer Ministry allows members and guests to share prayer concerns, etc.  Prayer requests are placed in the church's prayer room where individuals meet daily to pray for the shared needs and concerns.  Individuals are needed to staff the Prayer Room.  Please contact Rodney Vincent at 270-842-0331 or rvincent@firstbaptistbg.org for additional information and/or prayer needs.  For your convenience, a special link is provided to submit prayer requests.  Please click here.
